What kinds of orthopedic problems does Dr. Gross specialize in?

Dr. Gross has received extensive training in the management of acute orthopedic injuries, including fractures (broken bones), tendon/ligament tears, and sports-related injuries. These include commonly-injured body parts such as the shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, pelvis/hip, knee, leg, and ankle/foot. He also has expertise in treating complications relating to prior injuries, including malunions, nonunions, and post-traumatic deformity.

I was seen in the ER and was given the name of a different doctor to follow up with. Can I make an appointment to see Dr. Gross?

Does Dr. Gross see patients for second opinion evaluations?

Yes. Dr. Gross is often referred patients with complex injuries from other orthopedic surgeons. In other cases, patients themselves seek another opinion on their care. If you would like to make an appointment for a second opinion evaluation, please contact our office at .

What should I bring to my first appointment?

In addition to your ID and insurance information, please bring any imaging/records that you have available. If you have any discs of imaging (x-rays, CT scans, MRI’s), bring those with you so that they can be reviewed at your appointment. Also review the first visit guide here.

Do I need a referral?

If your insurance requires that you need a referral to see a specialist, then you will likely need to obtain one before your visit. If your insurance plan does not require a referral, then you can call to make an appointment without needing a formal referral. However, if you have been treated by another orthopedic surgeon previously, please bring any relevant records/imaging to your appointment.

Does Dr. Gross see pediatric patients?

Yes, Dr. Gross sees patients over the age of 5.

Will I need physical therapy during my recovery?

You will have the opportunity to discuss your individualized care plan with Dr. Gross at your office visit. Physical therapy is often utilized to optimize recovery and facilitate return to function, but each patient’s needs are different.
